SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) is a high‑speed serial communication protocol used to control addressable LED pixels. Unlike DMX, which transmits a continuous stream of channel values, SPI sends digital data directly to each pixel driver chip, allowing precise control of colour, intensity, and effects across large LED installations. SPI typically uses a Data line, and in some chip families a Clock line, to deliver instructions to every pixel in sequence. It is widely used for LED strips, bars, matrices, and other pixel‑based fixtures requiring fast, efficient, and highly granular control.
