DMX Terminator is typically a 120 Ω, 0.5 W resistor soldered across pins 2 and 3 of a male XLR plug and placed into the DMX OUT port of the final lighting fixture on a DMX cable run. Its purpose is to reduce signal noise caused by stray data reflections or “bouncing” along a daisy‑chained DMX line, thereby improving the stability and reliability of the DMX transmission.
